Racing with Lance,
It was a beautiful sunny day in Ojai, California this weekend for another NRC Race. It was the Garret Lemire GP. With a field of about 120 riders and a surprise guess Lance Armstrong shows up to put some hurt on.
While the race unfolded the Local people of Ojai were coming out of the hills to catch a quick glance at the star we call the (Wonder Boy) I mean to get a look at Lance Armstrong. Josh Goodwin was on fire this day being in all the breaks making sure that no body got up the road without him or one of his team mates. Lance also was a threat making sure he was in the breaks or bringing them back.
The race came down to 5 laps to go and the Field was all together. A couple of guys tried to get a way with 4 to go but came back while huge chase from the field. So the Wonder Boy, gathered his boys and started there lead out with two to go. Not wanting to take the front just yet the Monex boys staying top ten but all 4 of them staying tight together. Coming down to the last lap. Monex boys 5th back with the Wonder Boy, (Josh Goodwin) leading out Emil Abraham going into 3 turns to go start their lead out.
Dashing in the gutter inside looking fast, going into the last turn Harm Jansen looks over his shoulder to see the Wonder Boy coming full steam ahead. Harm being the canavi rider he is puts in a Mean HOOK almost taking out the Monex train. The Wonder Boy being so swift goes outside of harm and gets another hook from Some Symetrics guy trying to get on Harms wheel. The Wonder boy now in his 53/12 trying to muscle out of the last corner hold on to a top 10 finish gets 11th place while his team mate gets top 5 with a 5th Place.
While the Monex boys road good it was really fun racing with Lance Armstrong. Until next time.
P.S. Here is a link of me and Lance on the start line. I am right behind lance to the right of the picture. http://www.cyclingnews.com/photos.php?id=photos/2005/apr05/lemire05/img_2296
