I want to get some wheels for races and need some advice (I do mostly flat olympic and 1/2 IM
distance races). I can't go for a brand new set of Zipp wheels, so it looks like I've got a couple
of options. I could go for a used set of 303's (I have 30mm rims now and my bike handles funny in
the wind - so I'm reluctant to go with 404's). An alternative would be something like velocity
spartacus pro. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I went with velomax tempest. $375 off e-bay $650 retail. It was a good decision. Very fast hub
(don't use it in the rain though) 30mm depth is decent. Spoke count is low. It's light for 30mm rim
I can use these to race crit's and tri's. Stay away from Sparticus. I have talked to a couple
people who had major problems with them regularly comming out of true. If you could swing it for a
tri dedicated combo the 303 front and a hed 3 rear would make a great combo that should be
comortable and fast for you. I buy most of my stuff off e-bay used to save some money with no
problems. Good Luck Mike
