  1. Now that RAAM is over, we can shut down rbr (rec.bicycles.raam), until
May of next year. It's been a great couple of months as we speculated about
the riders the new enduro format, followed by this one and only epic race of
the year. Can't wait till May 2007, so we can start again.

I can't wait to follow Ullrich, once he wins this year and claims four
relative virtual victories(*1) and two absolute Tour wins, there will
be no reason for him to race against what is left of the pro tourers.
All that is left is RAAM. He's got the neck for it and he clearly has
practiced going without sleep in previous off seasons.

    Just someone on two wheels...

*1 - a relative virtual victory is a virtual victory relative to those
that are left. True, he's still short one from matching the Lance, so
he may come back for one more. Some may want to give him five of seven
in the Years of the Lance, but I think four is more appropriate.

It's not over. Fred Boethling, the last rider on the course, hasn't
    finished yet.

After one more stop at a local donut shop, he's in good shape to win
    the MP* Division.
I give the guy a lot of credit for hauling that, um, "extra," over the
    Rockies.

    * MP = Master Paunch division
