Quote of the day (from non-riders)

Bystander: Where’s your other wheel?
Unicyclist: I got rid of it and I’ve upped my coordination and wit, so
up yours.> PUni rider

one time when I was the harry potter book “party” at a local book store
(even though I'm not a huge fan...story for another time) I was riding
my unicycle when some guy said "Now I've seen every thing!" Which is
kinda sad if you think about after seeing a unicycle you've seen every
thing to be seen...

The lady who about 6 months ago said "You still riding that fool thing?"
has become more congenial. Last night she walked by while I was
practicing hopping and idling. She remarked, "Nice day for walk, er a
bike ride, uh..... , or what ever you call that."

Another soul turned to the wheel!

Then she remarked on how hard that looks, and that she gets tired just
seeing me do that.

I was speaking to a coworker in the hall just now about my rekindled
interest in unicycliing, and he observed, "When on a bike, you have to
make corrections in only one dimension to maintain balance, left and
right. On a unicycle, you have to account for 360 degrees. It's like
YOU are the gyroscope."

Most people point out only four directions of control, left, right,
forward and back, and I guess after you actually learn to ride, your
brain automatically merges forward-back and left-right corrections into
360 degrees of control.

I thought he was quite clever with his comments...

Man, last night was wierd.

A 14-15 year old girl was walking with some friends and said, I kid you
not ...

"Wow. Look. A unicorn."

I was speechless, didn't have a reponse, I just kept riding. I might
have expected something like that from a 4-6 year old, but a her age??

I was driving my car in town yesterday. I was getting out to go to the
store. what I needed to bring in was (in the back of the station wagon)
under a coker, a muni, and 2 freestyles.

As I was pulling the unicycles out and putting them onto the grass, a
girl from the club and her dad came by riding on their bikes.

That's a weird coincidence! I said.

Not really, said the father, you're always pulling unicycles out of that
thing.

my mom sponsors a girl affected by the cherynobyl meltdown (she has a
special attachment as we lived in Romania at the time, which is pretty
close)

one person in their neighbourhood has a DVD player. By chance, the copy
of TWNR we sent over was able to play on it.

HE IS VERY BRAVE TO ACT SUCH SPORT

"could you push a wheel barrow riding that, cuz' then you could push me
and i wouldn't have to walk?" i thought that at least it was original
