I often hear "your missing half your bike,or wheres the other half, or
couldn't you afford a whole bike".I don't know who came up with this
comeback but it kills em dead. "I got rid of the training wheel"!

some days I just don't want the comments-so I throw out one first and by
the time they have stopped laughing I am rolling off into the
distance..one of my favorites is to see that the people are looking
,and searching for a smart comment-i'll make eye contact and say-they
told me not to park my bike in the projects (or any high theft spot for
youtr locale)-this is all they left me...sometimes all it takes is "you
gotta be carefull where you park these days"--"did you see some guy
come by here with the rest of my bike??"works as well..

Sometimes little kids, or even highschoolers, will see me riding and
they'll say something to the effect of "So?? I can do that."

I always take this time to give them the opportunity to show me how
it's done, but they always have somewhere they have to go. Hmmm...

Yes i love when the Alpha male of a group says 'Yeah i can do that' to
try and impress everyone else, I always stop and give them the
opportunity to prove themselves, if they're that desperate to make
themselves look like a *** i don't see why i should stand in their way.

Yesterday at the park a ~15 year old kid asked to try my uni. Sure, I
handed it to him, warned him about the bear claw like pedals. He then
ran off to steal the uni!

Luckily I stayed cool, when he saw that I wasn't buying it, he stopped
at the edge of the woods. He doesn't know that I was beginning to
worry, if he'd gone 10 feet further I would have chased him down.

I didn't play into his little joke.

Last Sunday. Passing a jogger on the trails.

He: "Well, that's a first."

Me: "Is it?"

Not particularly witty, I admit. But the guy looked intelligent, and
as I was hopping over a series of roots, I hope he realized that it
wasn't a first for me, at least. I'll probably pass him again this
weekend, and if he says, "Well, that's a second..." I'll know he was
just counting.

I was riding down a tricky bit of one of my favorite muni trails and
this old couple stared at me and then said that the trail ahead would
be impossible for me. ;) I said o.k. then hopped over a few logs in my
way and rode off. When i passed them again later they looked at me with
a wierd expression  and were amazed that I had come back alive.
Its nice to know somebody thinks its neat.

decorations and reindeer and **** said "well you got me beat!" i'm not
out there to amuse ppl. *******. also had the pleasure of getting a
whole junior high school football team to stare at me as i rode by.
i'm going to attach a second wheel made out of papier mache to my
unicycle so i will just look like some guy riding a bike.

er, we ARE unicyclists. and if you don't want people to stare at you
then why are you riding it? people WILL look.

also, the guy putting up the christmas decorations was just being
friendly. How's about sending some christmas cheer back the other way
