Okay, here's the dilemma. I'm having some problems in alternating between my Renn 575 disc and my Campagnolo Vento rear clinchers. The problem is simple....the Renn575 is a bit wider than the Vento (The rim's braking surface). I've made some adjustments to the cabling already so now the issue becomes....when using the Renn575 disc, am I okay if I use the adjustment screw each time to widen and narrow the gap between the two braking surfaces? Obviously, I do not want to leave that much of a gap between the pad and the braking surface. Also, how tight shoud the screw be on the lower arm of the brake caliper? I'm afraid to over-tighten, but also want to make sure I am safe and the cable won't slip.

Unless you have a torque wrench (and I don’t) you want it tight – but not too tight. In other words tighten but don’t really crank it down.
