Just replaced the crappy chinese brake calipers that came on my trek 1200 with 105's. Only problem
is that the cables diameter is too large to fit into the adjuster.
Uh? I would have thought that all brake cables were the same diameter? I aint re-taping those
bars...............

The cable (housing) diameter *is* all the same. The problem you are running into is that the crappy
chinese brake calipers need a ferrule inside the adjuster, and the Shimano 105's do not.
Remove the chromed steel ferrule from the end of the housing, and you'll be all set.
