How does one subscribe to this group? I've looked all over the Google
site and can't see how it's done. Sorry for the dumb question.

server using a newsreader (or newsreader function of a Web browser, though
standalone newsreaders usually work better). Google just provides the
ability to read archives and post through a gateway; it's not a true news
server. Subscribing to a group is actually a function of your newsreader;
you just tell it that you want to monitor a certain group for new messages,
and it will periodically connect to the news server and retrieve a list of
new messages from it. It will keep track of which messages you've already
read.
