  1. I'm looking for a camera to mount on the handlebars that snaps a photo
every N seconds, where N is from 0.5 to 10.

Orgon Scientific makes something close, but it does continuous .avi's:

I would like something with that form factor. Of course I could rip
into it and trigger with a 555 timer. Something that works out of the
    box would be nice.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Jim

Almost all still and video cameras strapped to the handlebars will die very
quickly, as the moving parts inside were not meant to be bumped about. That
action cam, a solid-state model, will hold up fine.

Lots of digital cameras have interval timers. Whether they are
adjustable to the exact time you want is doubtful.
