Remco said:Hello people,
With some people, we're planning to make a hiking trip in the Pyrenees this summer. We want to go
self-supporting, so we carry tents and food. We don't have any really professional things, so
crossing dangerous peaks is out of the question.
What is the best place to go hiking? We plan to go 7-10 days. And we want to walk from point A to
B, crossing the best sights; highest peaks, best flowers, greenest meadows, lakes, views. What
region (or GR) do you recommend?
thanks for any advice. Remco
June is best for weather, but there will still be enough snow above 2200m that you may need axes and
crampons in some places.
Buy/borrow the GR10, GR11, and HRP books, select the area(s) that interest you most, and come back
here - someone will have done the relevant sections and have up-to-date input for you. Also worth
Googling for GR10/11/HRP.
