The family went to opening day at the Western Washington State Fair in Puyallup yesterday -- had a blast an ate lots of good food (onion burgers, scones, roasted corn, yum!):

Would those have been Walla Walla onions? The only time I ever drove through Eastern Washington it happened to be onion harvest season and we stopped at a roadside stand intending to buy a small bag. The guy at the stand encouraged me to take a bite out of a raw Walla Walla, something I had never done before. (This was decades ago) It was SO good. We bought a LOT of onions. -aem

Walla Walla sweets are sooo good. I used to take them with me into the woods as a snack. I'd eat them just like an apple. I finally figured out why I never saw any deer or elk. :-)
