Sigh, very unpleasant attempted commute this morning. Talk about
angering the puncture gods.
First puncture about halfway in just after it started raining. Found
some shelter from the rain, but wind was howling and it was dark so not
exactly perfect conditions. Removed the chunk of glass from the tyre.
Grabbed my spare tube, removed the punctured one. Pumped up the tyre and
packed everything up, only to find the new tube hissing with a puncture.
WTF! Pull out the old tube and discover I've mixed them up and put the
punctured tube back in. Grrrrrr. Unpack the panniers and go through it
again, Head off to find the temp seems to have dropped 5 degrees.
2km down the road the tyre goes flat again. Much swearing begins. Unpack
everything to get to puncture repair kit and discover I only have enough
glue for one repair. Patch the hole, tube back in, pump it up, enjoy the
sound of air hissing out. Aaaaaaaagh. At this stage it has taken me 1
1/2 to go 10km. Time to call bike ambulance and declare this a work from
home day.
