Pumps: Road morph vs.

  1. I'm hoping to find somebody who was used the Topeak Road Morph and any mini-pump.

    I currently have the Road morph and is a decent frame pump. The only gripe if have is that when coming close to pumping to the tube limits, it's a bit tougher and have to set the pump on the ground and use it like a floor pump - not to mention pressure on the hands.

    My question is the use of the mini-pumps. I've been looking at ones that have dual-action and have that switch (large volume vs. high pressure). Besides being a bit smaller, is it more efficient in putting air in the tubes? How hard do you have to work the pump to get it to 100psi for example.

    I'm planning to use put two water bottle cages on my bike so I won't be able to use the brazeons for the road morph and was just looking at alternatives. Sure, i can just place it on the top tube, but was just curious as to the other pump.

    The laws of physics can't be violated no matter who makes the pump. It's all a pressure and volume thing. What makes you think that a mini pump is going to be easier to pump 100psi than using a Road Morph?

  3. Neither. GI seal n' Flate. Solves all your problems with less weight, less time and less money.

    Maybe I should clarify. I'm not too keen on the handle of the morph... it's too skinny in my hands and actually hurts when inflating at high pressure.
    I was just weighing the thought of getting a different pump (maybe smaller and more ergonomic i guess)
    I just didn't want to invest in a mini-pump if it was less efficient (even with the dual-action attribute)

    Dual action makes it harder to pump higher pressures. You have to pull to overcome whatever pressure you are putting in, and that is much harder than pushing. Once again, GI Seal n' Flate/Vittoria pitstop and GP 4 Seasons and all your punctures troubles will be gone. 11000km on the same rear tyre without a single puncture.
