I am just starting to get in to biking seriously and am looking at small bike pumps on ebay. I am undeciced between a crank brother's pump with a gauge, and a nicer carbon unit with out one. I know i can buy a gauge seperately but as i am concidering bike touring, more gear is more weight. Is having a gauge nessicary (sp), or would it be possible to go by feel and handling characteristcs ect. Thanks for your time.

A gauge is less critical on the pump you carry with you than on the pump you have in the garage.
