I use Chinese five spice powder for my pumpkin pies
Just replace it measure for measure..
1/4 tsp of what ever is replaced with 1/4 tsp of Chinese
five spice powder, etc.... Makes the best pies. I started
doing this in '85 when I couldn't get one of the spices
needed for my pies because it was the day before
Thanksgiving and all the stores were out of the spice I
needed (can't remember now which one it was) I was digging
through my cupboards and noticed that the ingredients in
the Chinese five spice powder are almost the same as what
was called for in the recipe and used it.
Hope this helps. I hope this won't be hard to find also.
