Hey all, first time post from a quasi road bike newbie. Basically I got a nice little 99' Klein Quantum Race Pro bike stolen from me and now I am in the market for a new bike. After many failed Craigslist ventures I finally went to a few local shops and found a special lil' something that I like. It's a new (displayed in a window and test ridden a couple times) '06 Bianchi Veloce bianchiusa.comveloceOpen ↗ tagged at $1,300.00. It's definitely a good 6 pounds or so heavier than my previous bike but man it rides oh so smooth and it looks gorgeous. The owner told me to come in Friday and he is going to bring the price down and cut me a deal. I doubt it will be brought down under a grand so I am prepared to spend up to 1,200.00 if it is worth it.
So my question is, what exactly should be payed for this bike in mint condition?
a good negotiation could end up in 1K, try to be cool and don't reveal how much you like it, bike is good but 6 years is a long time, i think it is a good deal anyway,
Awesome. Good to know. I figure if all else fails at least the Campy groupset, rims, and wheels will be perfect on a light carbon frame in the future if I get sick of riding a steel frame
FWIW. I would think that a NOS bike of [B]THAT[/B] vintage (i.e.,7 years old) will normally be just over 50% of the MSRP ...
BUT, because it has CAMPAGNOLO Veloce components, 'I' would allow a minimum of $100-to-as-much-as-a-$200 premium over the fore mentioned 50% "base" price for a 7 year old NOS bike ...
So, 'I' would be hoping to pay closer to $800+ if the bike had the RIGHT SIZE frame for me (or, in this instance, YOU).
