  1. I think I have read that it is recommended to build a pt sl hub with 3 cross spokes only but i have read of them being built 2x as well, and for example the bontrager wheels are build usong non-standard spoking.

Is there any real reason why a wheel should not be built 2x instead of 3x??

    cheers!

  2. You could probably unlace the hub faster if it was built 2X.

  3. With 24 spokes and a deep rim I am not even sure you could do 3X with a PT hub without the spoke heads getting in the way on the flange.

The only reason not to do it would be if the flanges are too weak to handle it. Based on the distance from the spoke holes to the edge of the flange I doubt that it the case with PT. They are probably just being conservative.

  4. thanx i couldnt think of any good reason not to!
