    Lekvar Prune Plum Filling

    Prune Filling

    "An easy to make prune filling with pecans and a hint of spice. "
    Original recipe yield: 3 cups.

    1 cup chopped pecans
    1 (16 ounce) can stewed prunes
    2 tablespoons white sugar
    1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
    1 tablespoon lime juice

    Chop pecans and prunes together in a blender or food processor, stir in
    the sugar, cinnamon, cloves and lime juice. Use as a filling for
    cookies or pastries.

    Lekvar Prune Plum Filling

    Yield: 2 1/2 cups
    45 minutes 10 mins prep

    1/2 cups pitted prunes, lightly packed
    2/3 cup water
    1 teaspoon grated lemons, rind of
    3 tablespoons lemon juice
    1/3 cup brown sugar

    Simmer ingredients covered 25- 30 minutes until very soft and most of
    water is evaporated. Uncover last few minutes if necessary. Remove from
    heat and mash. Stir in brown sugar. You can keep Lekvar in the
    refrigerator for a long time. Put it in a canning jar.

    Note: Can be made using dried apricots instead of prunes.
