Propellors near Llanbedr.

The airfield is the one extending into Mochras (Shell Island) where they
used to launch the unmanned target drones (Jindiviks) south for the guys
at Aberporth to practise on. I've never seen any section of fence like
that in the area though.

It's not on the road from Llanbedr to Cwm Bychan but straight on the beach
SW of Llanbedr, around SH5726. Don't know about the fence and propellers,
though.

Ooops. I Nearly top posted then.... tut tut

The airfield is RAE Llanbedr. This was closed last year due to "cut backs"
and caused a shock to Llanbedr for employment. This site is still visible
from the road and all buildings are still standing but is becoming over run
with grass. Local sheep and cattle are grazing the site to keep some of the
grass down. Planes/drones still fly from RAE Valley (Anglesey) on a daily
basis (excluding weekends) and make dummy landing runs on the airfield at
Llanbedr. The Jindivik that used to be on the front entrance to the site
has now been moved across the road to the AirCorps training site
