Do you have a professional training facility or organization for cycling in your area? Did you join if you have? And what are the usual stuff that they teach and how often do you guys meet? I was thinking of putting up a camp for it actually.

The only compelling example that pops in my mind is related to track. And yes, I am fortunate enough to have access to national level facilities. They organize initiations (without which no one is allowed to ride on the track).
These initiations include very basic abilities such as getting used to the fix gear, getting used to enter in contact with other riders, learning to look behind you without breaking trajectory, learning to move up/down the track (first in straight stretches then in turns), etc..
Not sure if that helps. All I could tell you is that whilst structured activities are optional for learning road cycling (at least to some extent), they become almost mandatory to tackle riding on a track.
