  1. Does anyone know of a log detailing any pro-cyclists training regime? i.e. how many hours per week they ride and the intensities they ride at.

I'm sure there must be a 'log' of one pro on the web somewhere.

    Thanks,
    Tom.

  2. There's a book you can buy that almost totally details Lance's training...i found it at Barnes and Noble

  3. Most pro cyclists' books will have something along the lines of what you are looking for. I recall Lemond's first book (don't remember the title) had his training schedule.

Check out things like the Cyclist's Training Bible (Joe Friel) - those will give you a general idea.

  4. I don't mean to put a damper on TomUK's enthusiasm but just so that beginning to intermediate riders don't get the wrong idea, it's not always wise or even good physically to try to imitate the professionals and their training schedules.

A good way to put it is that if you wanted a better idea of what the pros training schedule was like, try getting all their training logs from when they started cycling up to now, you'd get an excellent idea of their development. Do not try to copy their training logs or schedules or anything, do either what your coach advises you to do, or listen to your body and how your body responds and make a training schedule from that, or even better, buy the books that everyone mentioned, especially Joe Friel's book and Chris Carmichael's book, "The Lance Armstrong Performance Program." Those guys have top notch knowledge about how the body responds to various workouts and how the body needs to recover.
