  1. We carry light pumps on the road, but in reality 80% of our tire filling is done at home base with another 15% in gas stations. This was fine with Schaeder valves, but Presta is another matter entirely.

I've used the $1 'Presta to Schraeder' screw-on adapters. The fill rate is way slow and I've yet to find a pressure guage that will work reliably (repeatably) with one.

Surely somewhere in this world there is a Presta filler chuck that will fit to an air compressor hose (preferably quick-connect).

    😕

  2. Second.

Bike shops may know something about it. I haven't asked them yet. It would be very expensive, nowhere near the price of the adapter I imagine.

  3. My motivated LIW (live-in wench^H^H^H^Hwife) visited a new LBS and found this:

Problem Solvers Universal tire inflator PU9997. Fits both Presta and Schaeder, integral brass-movement dial pressure guage 0-160 psi. Complete with standard 1/4" coupler. $80.

    Gotta have it.

Google on PU9997. They're all over the place. Same line includes a nice brass Presta dial gauge, Meiser PU3008.
    :p
