just my opinion... no need to stay and train in Msia. Just make sure you arrive early like from 2
weeks to a month so you can aclimate to the weather.

Absolutely no problem, trust me. Just don't wave the old glory flag on the street like a drunken
sailor on July-4th! even that, the worse you can get is some rotten egg get thrown at you :-(
Western media has a way to convince the uninformed masses that Martian is invading the earth, and
people believing it and arm to the teeth.

I don't know if the IM is held on the east or west Msia. My reco for best place to train: -Penang
island -Langkawi Island

if you interested to hookup with some local tri/cycling community in Msia, shot me a email.

I have been to Malaysia a lot on business. Peninsula Malaysia is fine. The IM is on the island of
Langkawi and there are loads of hotels - I stayed at the Sheraton Beach Resort which is a
fantastic hotel.

If you are living in in the southern US you should acclimatise fine within two weeks. If you are in
the Northern US or Europe and have the opportunity to go to Malaysia before the race - do. The
humidity and temperature can be a killer, Europeans typically have a tough time in the race.

I wouldn't try to cylce anywhere other than Langkawi/Penang though and def. not anywhere around
Kuala Lumpur - Malaysians are not used to sports cyclists and road discipline is "interesting".
