Prediction for Sunday

Landis had a 1:07 advantage over Sastre in the first time trial.

Projecting based on that, Landis will have a 55 second lead starting
the final stage.

If that happens, then I think it is a pretty good bet that Sastre will
attempt a breakout on Sunday.

In 1987 when the margin was 40 seconds, a breakout was attempted.

I think this Sunday's stage will be far more exciting than 1989. Three
guys, all with the absolutely realistic chances of taking the win,
duking it out.

I can not believe how the two Spaniards are already saying they've lost
all hope for a GC win. The Spanish can be such wussies sometimes. Maybe
they can blame air conditioners.

Probabaly a bit of misinformation. I cannot believe those teams are
not plotting. Or, at least, they will be plotting in earnest after
they know the TT results.

You can bet they've all ordered in cases of Amstel Light in place of the
usual pitchers of sangria.

Landis also said he had lost the tour, so he must be a "wussie" too.

I think a breakaway or more likely than a breakout.

"In 1987, with Stephen Roche leading Pedro Delgado by only 40 seconds
after the final time trial, Delgado broke away from the peloton on the
Champs-Elysées, threatening to ****** victory at the last minute. (In
fact he was caught, he and Roche both finished in the peloton, and
Roche thereby won the Tour.)"
