  1. I am competing in Ironman Lake Placid and was hoping some bike experts could help me out. Is it better to race using watts with a power tap hub or ride a more aerodynamic less weight race wheel?

  2. Depends on which of the following two factors will make you faster:
    1) Knowing your wattage/torque output, and using that info to budget your energy wisely, or
    2) The faster, more aero wheel.

    If it's a short tri, then aero won't much matter. If it's a long one, then maybe it will. And of course, you can always build a powertap wheel into a 28 spoke deep rim and have both...
