Powertap SL distances

Do you have the newer sharkfin receiver? If not, get one - that took care of similiar problems I was having. If you do, maybe add some padding beneath the receiver.
The vibration of the pawls in your hub is causing interference.

I have the old one without padding underneath. I'll try fixing that first and then buying the shark fin one since I need one for my TT bike anyways. Thanks.

If your PT is cutting out on downhills, you have the infamous "vibration problem", where vibration from the wheel is causing the receiver to cut out. Call Saris and they will send you a replacement "shark fin" receiver for free. Mount it with some padding and that should fix the problem.

it's possible that you have it set to record speed only when pedaling. that's in setup section 3.
