I see that there is a firmware update for the PT. Should these be treated like MS Service Packs i.e. necessary upgrades?
Does anybody know what the latest version (2.21) does ?

I've heard that 2.21 addresses issues for the SL. I don't have an SL, but I upgraded to 2.21 for the PT Pro and it works fine, though I never had any problems with 2.00.
I think 2.02 doubled the available data storage capacity; I would guess 2.21 maintains that, but I'm not sure.
