Following the success of American track riders this week at the 2007 Pan American Road and Track Championships, the United States Cycling Team opened competition on the road with two more medals. Alison Powers became the continental time trial champion after riding to a gold medal on Friday while teammate Dotsie Bausch won the bronze. The efforts of the women's road squad brought the U.S. medal count to eight. Competition for the United States concludes on Saturday as Powers, Bausch and Tina Pic will compete in the women's road race.
