  1. How do you reset Powertap ride data without erasing the memory. I ride to and from work each day and I'd like to see my power averages for each ride while I am riding. I know if I ride twice a day without hitting mode/select for 2 seconds, I will get 2 records when I download but I would like to see, in real time, average power etc. I hope this is not an RTFM question.

Well of course it's a RTFM question, but who likes reading manuals 🙂

The only way I can think of is to work in interval mode and treat the morning and afternoon (and period between) as seperate intervals. Hold down the left button for a few seconds till the interval counter comes on and stays lit. Hit both buttons when you arrive at work to end the first interval (and start the rest interval) hit both buttons again when you start home in the evening. I've never tried this on my PT with eight hours between ride segments, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

You can even do interval callback while you're riding if you want to see the averages from the morning interval while still collecting data into the evening interval. Just scroll the left button till the interval counter is active and then hold the right button till the memory indicator is displayed. Scroll the right button to choose the interval to view and use both buttons to get to the data you're interested in viewing. Hold down the right button for several seconds to get back to the real time interval display for the current interval.

I'm not doing double workouts this time of year, but am curious so let me know if that works for you.

It works OK. Indeed you can store rides over several days this way.

    That's the RTFM part.

This bit's not in the FM:

I would recommend that each ride on the same day that are separated by a long break, be created and saved as separate wko's if using Cycling Peaks WKO+. The main reason is the way Mean Maximal Power is calculated in CP - it ignores the breaks, so it is possible to have a false MMP (and mucking up your MMP chart) if both rides are kept in the one file.

  4. I ride to work and back, do nothing with the cpu, just open CP connect the unit see there are 2 rides to download, download the first ride, then create new workout for the same day and drag and drop.
