Does anyone have suggestions for ways to do power/speed estimations for a course? Someone on the topica wattage list made a profile of the U.S. tt nat's course and hosted it at: i1.tinypic.comohkbh3.jpgOpen ↗
I'm interested in something like "I can average 27 mph in a flat tt with average conditions, what could I expect to average on this course."

Hei,
you can try the calculator on
w3.iac.netvelocity.htmlOpen ↗E.g. your 27 mph TT speed on the flat indicates your output power would be ~320 Watts. From the course profile you can estimate the grades and lengths of the hills, and furthermore, speculate about the optimum pacing strategy for the up- and downhill sections.
