  1. Hi

I need some help; maybe some of you may have more knowledge. I'm interested in a steel frame road bike, and I was wondering if any manufacture has a powder coated finish that available on their bikes. I think a power coated finish would be much durable than a painted finish.

    Thanks
    Art

  2. Powder coat is heavier than paint. Also, if the powder coat gets chipped the coating will begin to peel away and spread like a flesh eating bacterial infection. I loved DuPont Imron but do not know if it is still available.
