Is it just me or do certain posts go missing from the ng from time to

Conspiracy to stifle your freedom of speech. No, rb's point is valid -- posts do seem to go missing sometimes.
My own ISP sometimes seems to leave posts in the outgoing queue for
some variable amount of time (like days). Then there are those that the cancelbots nail, but that shouldn't
apply to most of the posters here.-- David Wright :: alphabeta at prodigy.net

Posts do not last forever on your newsserver, but are archived in

I think rb is referring to new posts, like when you do a post and look
for it later to see if somebody responded, but it never got onto the
server. Is this right rb?I posted a couple of posts which for the life of me, I couldn't find
later, no matter how hard I looked. One was about the benefits of
calcium in this ng and the other was in another newsgroup, something
about invisibility. I just put it down to error of some sort. There
could be some sort of glitch in the google system - mostly posts turn
up but maybe sometimes they get lost. You can always repost.I've noticed similar effects too. Some posts, by some posters don't show up
on the server I use at the university, but do show up at the server I use at
home (that's how I noticed it). I don't know why, but it happens. But it's
not to do with google. Google only archives a fixed number of newsservers
and all messages that are on those servers can be found on google, unless
they carry the 'x-no-archive=yes' header (I do believe Google honours that
header).--
