It sounds as if it is working in Uganda, insofar as the rate
of infection has stabilised and is declining. The number of
orphans, however, is continuing to increase and will do so
for some time.

drink and wash in water that is uncontaminated. What's the water supply got to do with AIDS? Nothing that
I can see, at least not directly (I suppose someone with
AIDS is more susceptible to water-borne infections).
The odds of maintaining health and fighting off any form of
disease or infection are seriously impaired when there is
little water available and where the only water that is
there is grossly contaminated.
Given that many families have at least one HIV/AIDS infected
adult or child, without clean water to wash with, as well as
to drink, how to contain the disease within the family?
Cuts, sores and all kinds of lesser infections are
commonplace. Often there is no Dr to visit for treatment,
the family does as best they can. Even for washing food
utensils.. As well, they often don't boil water before
drinking it, due to lack of knowledge of the basics of
killing infections. Where there is inadequate water for
washing, how to contain any disease? Remembering too that
the carer may be a child, and the invalid the parent.
