Possible Edge 205 upgrade problem.

  1. Beware if you have the edge 205 and are about to upgrade to the latest
    software for the unit.

    I've just downgraded the Edge 205 Ver. 2.90 unit software back to the
    2.80 version. The 2.90 caused the unit, mine, though maybe not your
    unit, not to be able to upload or download from the Training Centre
    software. Tracklogs was still able to upload though.

    I'm not familiar with that particular unit but I'd advise you to google
    the newsgroups and see if there's a reset procedure you can run. The
    Garmin manuals do not always tell you all the things you'd quite like
    to know.

    The down grade worked so I a happy user again.
    There is a factory setting type reset, mode+reset. And one thing that I
    found out today, by accident, is that if you power on the unit while
    holding down the enter button you get, what I can only describe as, a
    firmware menu. In which one of the settings to play with is the pitch
    of the beep tone. It also displays the temperature, which the unit
    doesn't do in normal operation.
