forever. There's a counter.

I can not disagree more. The big hitters are quite possibly big
hitters ONLY with illegal assistance.

The guys who aren't in the race aren't there for a reason. If
anything, the previous decade of results should have an asterisk.

There are programs that will convert from PAL. Nero is one.

DVD-Decrypter will strip region codes. That's a 2 step software process,
which seems suboptimal.
