I'm thinking about purchasing the polar s-520 heart rate monitor/cyclocomputer. Any comments on this
equipment, either pro or con?
Thanks.

Polar service is top grade. Why don't you get the S720 instead? not much price difference and you
get a better PC interface including better software I believe.

Move up to the 720i.

You should be aware of that the 520 perhaps can't save that much data if this is an issue. This is
the numbers for the 510/520 vs 710/720 from last year:
Memory: 510: 16 hours 710: 520 hours (with sampling each minute) The hours will be less if you
choose to sample the puls every 15 or each 5th second, which you can choose on the 710i anyway.
Number of saved "heartbeats" 510: 120 710: 32000 Number of memory files 510: 1 710: 99
In other words you can do several training sessions with the 710/720i without transfering data to
your computer if you want to do that.
With the 520,if you go out on an 2 hour session you can "only" sample your heartrate every 60
seconds, for 4 hours every 120 seconds....
