I have a Polar S710I and I was wondering just how strong the receiver and also the breast sender actually were?
I know that you cannot drop them etc. although what about general impact bumps and small drops/hits etc.
I know that my question may seem a little on the obvious side although considering how expensive they are it would be nice to hear of other peoples experienced Re. dropping etc. and how the gear either survived or didn't.

Thanks...
I have 720i and I abuse it constantly. I've dropped it, banged it, ridden in the rain, snow, covered in road salt, sweat, etc. No troubles. Had a problem with speed sensor once, Polar fixed it, no questions asked.
The chest strap is most likely indestructable. The elastic has worn out from constant use, but the strap itself seems impervious. I hope this helps.
