This is so wierd. i wear a Polar HRM and use a powertap. i have noticed that for some reason, my powertap will pickup my Polar signal and record it. so when i download the powertap date into CP2.0, i have a heartrate graph. i thought this was odd, but i didnt care becuase i want that HR graph in my CP2.0. however, for the past couple of days im not getting this anymore. my PT wont pick up my polar signal. is this a freak thing and it will be a periodic anomaly, or is this a feature that i dont know about? also, is there a way i can cut the HR graph (imported from polar) into CP2.0 main screen? basically, i want all the info for a single ride in one screen. but my first question is most important. thanks

Did you switch from a non coded to a coded strap? I have not seen anything that would show that a PT could pick up coded HR transmitions.Jeff

I have also a Polar HRM and a coded strap T61 : the powertap pro sometimes record it, sometimes not. For the moment, I can't give any reason why sometimes it works or not 😕. -

i havnt switched anything. i was using polar HR and Power, but then i got a powertap. powertap instructions says that when the signal is picked up from the hub on the computer, then the HR (from powertap) will be picked up. i have a theory: i will spin the hub to wake it up. THEN i will turn on my polar and see if the powertap will pick up the signal. however, sometimes the data that i have downloaded into CP2.0 has holes in the HR data and sometimes it is complete. i think that this is a totally random and unforeseen "feature" from powertap. in any case, since 90% of my riding/training is done solo, i might as well use the powertap chest strap. but please continue to give your thoughts -

I always turn on the PowerTap first, then the Polar. Either the powertap picks up the heartrate signal quickly and the ride is recorded well (with some holes as you said), either nothing is recorded during the ride. And in the two cases, the Polar records well the heart signal. I need to say also that the PowerTap chest strap works well and heartrate is recorded perfectly by the receiver: I checked it when I used it during my workouts on home trainer.
