I have had drop-out issues with mine as well. I spoke with Polar Canada (I'm just outside Toronto) and they are slow to respond to me (it's been over a week now). I happened apon a polar rep on another discussion board and his advise was immediately "send it back - it will be replaced/repaired". When I asked if Polar knows what the problem was his repsonse was "nothing confirmed enough for public release". I hope that doesn't mean they don't have a handle on the issue. I'll send it back and see what happens. My serial # started C717.

Just to be specific, the ones I am talking about did not suffer from the "drop out" syndrome, which is when they work for a while and then start to have problems. These ones were completely dead from the start.......no lights, not detected by the head unit, change of batteries and using a different battery pod from a known working unit didn't help. In any case, Polar needs to be open and honest with this QC stuff, or the reputation will suffer.

I've been using a CS600P since mid november. I'm french and of course I bought it here in France.
From my own experience of having data dropouts in the first weeks, all I can tell is that the very important issue is to be able to install the paddle very // to the chain. In order to do so I had to install the device on another bicycle that has straight chain stays.
When this is done the Polar CS600P works very well and is very reliable.
