The Telegraph had a feature article about it, too a couple of days ago. It tried to position the
participants in l'etape as as engaging in a "male-bonding", "a man has to suffer" type of exercise,
but on the whole it was a positive article about "sport" cycling.I think you would need to register with the Telegraph website to get at the article, but it should
still be available.
