please help me value this bike

First and foremost, does it fit you? If you have any doubts, then search "fit" on this forum.

With that said, it sounds as if this bike is still standard except for the tires and the Omega Crankset which doesn't really effect the value as the replacements are pretty much the same value as the OEM parts.

Sight unseen, it is very difficult to put a price on this bike. MSRP was $1900 in 2008. I have seen a couple 2008s like this go for around $800 for a really good condition bike and a little less than $600 for one that showed a couple thousand miles and had Shimano Ultegra on it instead of the Campy Veloce components.Look at the condition, add $100 for the Campy and there is a starting price for you.

I'm 6'1" and the frame size is 59cm it feels comfy over 8km.

seller has asked £300.00 for it, few scratches on the crank and the odd chip on the frame other than that the bike looks in good cond.

i think i would probably buy a new wheel set, Tyre's, chain, inner tubes and replace the handlebar tape. at a cost of around £200.00 so all in all £500.00 spends

would this be good value or should i just spend this amount on a new bike??? if so what is out their for this price with as good a set up as the bianchi????

There is nothing brand new at 500 that would be as well fitted out as the Bianchi. You will be missing out on a warranty and whatever free shop maintenance that may have been thrown in for free on teh purchase of a new bike but it would not make up the difference between the Bianchi and whatever bike you might get from a shop. The biggest thing is to go over the bike with a fine tooth comb. If you have a friend who is also a cyclist, take him with you for an impartial look. Sometimes we miss the obvious when looking at "my next bike". With an aluminum frame, you want to look for stress cracks especially at all of the welds but also anywhere on the bike. These usually show up as small cracks in the finish. Also make sure that you pull the seat post out and look inside the seat tube with a flashlight for corrossion. It will appear to be a whiteish flaky substance stuck on sides of the tube. If you see stress cracks or a lot of corrossion, forget this bike. Otherwise get it and have fun, but be safe. Leave a little room in your budget for a helmet if you don't already have one.
