Pitching a Terra Nova Hyperspace tent

tape.
9. Peg out flysheet.

No eyelets were coloured.

I inserted a pole into the sleeve, into both eyelets - then repeated
for each pole.
Should all blue poles be inserted into the sleeves before inserting
into the tape eyelets ?

That's the usual method. Put poles into all the sleeves on the inner
then insert into the eyelets.

At this point put a few pegs in to keep the tent from blowing away. I
find it easier to keep the inner part pegged as I lift the tent to
insert the poles into the flysheet rather than getting down on hands
and knees.

Yes for a start. As the tent ages or gets damp you can move to the
inner holes to tighten the fly.

Yes. It's possible you have got instructions from a quasar which
doesn't have the flysheet pole.

The only change I'd make to your pitching description is to thread the
poles for the inner and insert one end into an eyelet in the
appropriate piece of tape. There's a "barb" on the pole end which
will reduce the chance of it falling out. When all poles are threaded
(except the thinner porch one) insert the second end of the two corner
poles. Sometimes helps to pull up the middle of the tent a bit to get
the correct orientation of bend. Once you've got a tent shaped inner,
connect the two side poles.

When you peg out the side rubbers, notice that you can put a peg
through the end of the eyeletted tape loop and put the side rubber
over the same peg. Saves pegs!

Not specifically related to this tent, but I've a friend who just does
not lose his temper - until recently, when he attempted to erect a
Vango Spirit 300 in poor weather conditions ! He was not a nice sight
to see, nor was the tent ! Colour coordinated poles are all very well
but low light levels, add in wind and rain and tempers fray as I
saw. And he's used the tent extensively previously.

Perhaps practice on the lawn when it's dark, windy and wet is required
but then neighbours can get a bit mystified.

Seems ok. On Hyperspaces I've put up there was no colourcoding - if I
remember correctly there were four equal length poles for the innner and a
shorter one for the outer, so i just put all the poles up and selected the
four long ones, sliding them all through on the inner and fitting one side
then going round t'other and battling with the corners before fitting the
sides. Try fitting the outer pole after you've chucked the flysheet on. It
all goes up quickly with practice.
