There we have it. I used GG to start a new thread but used the same
title and it DID make it look like a reply. I suspect someone wll be
along to tell me its wrong, but hey, I just use the tools I have,
communication is the goal here not use of particular tools.

GG doesn't thread properly it seems. It just goes on title, which
is dumb, hence it's co-joining two threads.

I think I may have caused some confuzzion; this is nothing to do with
the original ping MartinM thread; I intended to add to La Marmotte
thread; but under the options on GG it only gave the option to reply to
author, but when the window opened up it said reply to topic and
claimed it had gone to urc. But it hadn't, it just went to Arthur.

Which means if you want to reply to and old thread on GG you need to
start a new topic with the identical subject line as the original and
it somehow threads it in;

trying again with La Marmotte thread...
