  1. I made the onion soup today and it was very tasty. I'll
    change a couple of things the next time, though.

    First, I have a large, 6-quart crockpot. I did as you
    did and stirred the onions periodically in order to push
    them down, so that prolonged the cooking time and they
    weren't really caramelized after 8 hours. I'll let them
    cook down longer the next time. I also think the size of
    the pot had something to do with it. I have a smaller
    one so will try that.

    Second, I'll cut the onions much thinner the next time - I
    erred on the wide side (about 3/8"😉. Too wide.

    I didn't have a baguette or any crusty bread, so toasted
    regular bread and put shredded Parmesan on top, since we
    don't care for the usual gooey cheese topping.

    I'm glad you enjoyed it, Dora. And I do about the same with
    the bread thing -- Rob's not fond of cheese.
