They stand a much better chance of getting wildcard selections to ProTour races with him on the team - especially LBL. Until Tyler's appeal has completely run its course he's still eligible to race (and maybe afterwards too!...). It would be the ultimate flip off to the UCI for screwing with them and Phonak has nothing to lose since they'll be a non team next year anyway.
