Just got back home to the Northeast of England from a couple of days out family walking in the Scottish Highlands. On Thursday we had a ramble around Glenfinnan and the railway viaduct made famous in the recent Harry Potter films. It was hard to believe that it was the end of October as we headed off in T-shirts. Thank God the midges didn't put in an appearance. I only dare venture to this part of the world once summer is over and the critters have said their last goodbyes.
Seriously though, it was oh so very strange to be sitting outside the static caravan we'd hired at Corpach, near Fort William, on Thursday evening. It was 9pm and still felt as warm as any evening we've had sitting outside our tent in Cornwall in August!!! If this is what global warming is all about, I could grow to like it.
On a different note, does anyone know what the cave-like feature is that can be clearly seen in Glen Coe? I suspect it must be a natural feature, but I have often wondered whether it might be man-made. The feature I'm referring to is on the right-hand side as you head up Glen Coe. It's very high up on the rock face and can be seen just after the large expanse of water called Loch Achtriochtan. On the OS map it's called Ossian's Cave. Does anyone have any information about it?

Actually, after I sent the message, I did do a quick Google and came across that reference along with one or two others. As you say, there isn't a great deal of information.
I was intrigued by one reference which seemed to imply it could be reached by something slightly more than a ramble! I know that I don't really have a head for heights, but it seemed like this cave will be forever way off any beaten track that I pursue!
