Alessandro has left Lazio and heads south for today’s adventure, to the unknown (for him) region of Molise. The San Magno Crypt and truffles are on the menu and of course stage 8 of the Giro d’Italia and the battle goes on for pink. The first hard mountain finish of the Giro dItalia has seen the injured Berto defending quite well his maglia rosa, taking 2 seconds advantage at the intermediate sprint and making a strong pace in the first half of the race. The second half has seen the Astanas playing their cards but at the end, no stage win and no maglia rosa. While all that was taking place, Salvo and I were continuing our journey through the Italy we dont know. Its already been a long day: and now I will tell you how it went.Anagni is a great town not too far from Rome. Famous as the hometown of 4 PopesThe unknown cryptWhen I planned this trip and I choose Anagni as location for the first night I did it for a purpose. I knew I had to visit the San Magno crypt in the cathedral of the town. This is an unknown treasure that must be seen; something that you can compare to the most famous Sistine Chappel in the Vatican City.
