Race Report: Stage 10 was a day for the sprinters or was it? As expected the early break went up the road and was bound to be caught. It didnt happen, the peloton got it wrong and Nicola Boem (Bardiani-CSF) took the biggest win of his career.Another stage and another surprise in the 2015 Giro dItalia. In what seemed a straightforward sprinters stage; the break could not be caught. Lotto Soudal are the main sprinters team, they had some help from Giant-Alpecin and Trek, but the four (originally five) escapees managed to hold them off all the way to the line. Local boy; Marangoni was first to jump, he nearly made it to the line, but the 25 year-old Nicola Boem launched himself after the Garmin-Cannondale rider and scooped his big victory and the red points jersey. The courseStage 10 from Civitanova Marche to Forl is a flat stage along the Adriatic coast and apart from one Cat 4 climb of Monte di Bartolo, there isnt anything to bother the sprinters. The final kilometers are on straight roads, with urban road furniture (roundabouts, traffic dividers, etc.). Approximately 2km before the finish, the route enters a 1.5km pav section, with a right-hand bend 1,100m from the finish (Piazza Saffi) and a bottleneck with 800m to go. The final bend is at 500m to go, before the home straight on flat, 7m-wide asphalt.The riders rolled out of Civitanova Marche under clear skies and with a temperature of 27C and a little wind....
