Race Report: The Orica-GreenEDGE team kept their Giro team time trial crown by posting the fastest time on the 17.6 kilometer course and put Simon Gerrans in the first Pink Jersey for 2015. Prosecco for the Australians.The flat road to Sanremo was perfect for the Orica-GreenEDGE team, but it also suited early leaders Astana, their time stood at the top of the leaders board for a long time. The Kazakhs were knocked off by the Australians and then pushed down to 3rd by a very impressive Tinkoff-Saxo with Alberto Contador taking precious seconds from the other overall contenders.Top step for the AustraliansThe Course17.6 kilometers of flat asphalt road on the Riviera dei Fiori cycle path, on a former railway line. The course includes a few well-lit tunnels and at Arma di Taggia, the halfway mark, two sharp turns and an underpass lead the route momentarily off the cycle path to the split-timing point, then back to the cycle path, which leads to the home straight on Lungomare Italo Calvino the Milano-Sanremo finish line from 2008 to 2014. 500 meters from the finish line, the route leaves the cycle path via a left-hand then a right-hand bend, before swinging right along a final semi-curve into the home straight, which is 250m long and on 7 meter wide asphalt.
