As soon as he crossed the finish line you could hear the knives being sharpened; “he’s a doper!” “should be banned for life!” etc. Yes, those people have a valid point, but Valverde served his suspension and, under the rules as they are at the moment, is free to race. And race he does. His record stands for its self and is far too long to list here, but he has to be the most consistent rider of the last 10 years, from early spring to the World championships. Maybe you are suspicious, well look at all the big dopers of the recent past; they were not consistent.
